Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will face off in Colombo on Sunday, February 15. Match No. 27 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to take place at the R. Premadasa Stadium.

India are all set to lock horns with Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 match in Colombo on Sunday. After all the off-field drama, the fixture is finally happening as scheduled. Both India and Pakistan have momentum on their sides after winning their last fixtures and will look to continue their positive run.
India and Pakistan have played against each other eight times in T20 World Cups. The Men in Blue have been pretty dominant as they have etched win on seven occasions.
Ahead of the marquee clash, here’s a look at the top performers and record-holders.
India chased down a target of 160 runs in Melbourne in 2022 edition of the T20 World Cup. The Rohit Sharma-led team was left in a spot of bother after getting reduced to 31/4. Virat Kohli along with Hardik Pandya showed the much-needed resistance with the bat. The two stitched a stand of 113 runs for the fifth wicket. Hardik was eventually out for 40 off 37.
Needing 28 in 8 deliveries, Kohli hit Haris Rauf for two maximums on the trot. This brought down the equation to 16 needed off 6. Mohammad Nawaz dismissed Hardik Pandya on the first ball of the final over. India scored three runs from the next two balls, but then the game turned.

Nawaz bowled a waist-high no-ball, and Virat Kohli smashed it over square leg for six. The target became 6 runs from 3 balls. Nawaz then bowled a wide, and India ran three byes on the next one. Kohli was bowled on the next ball, but it was a free hit.
Dinesh Karthik faced the next delivery with India needing 2 from 2 balls. He was stumped on the second-last ball, bringing R Ashwin to the crease. India still needed 2 from 1 ball when Nawaz bowled another wide down the leg side.
With 1 needed off the last ball, Ashwin lofted it over mid-off to seal a four-wicket win. Kohli stayed unbeaten on 82 from 53 balls.
Chasing a target of 120, Pakistan were restricted to 113/7 and lost the match by 6 runs. India batted first and were bowled out for 119. Rishabh Pant top-scored with 42 off 31 while Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked up three wickets each. Later, India rode ona brilliant performance from the bowlers and especially from Jasprit Bumrah who returned with figures of 3/14 in 4 overs.
India defeated Pakistan by 6 runs which is the biggest win (by runs).
Pakistan's one and only win in T20 World Cups came in 2021 in Dubai. Pakistan chased down a target of 152 runs by 10 wickets after both Mohammad Rizwan and Babar struck individual fifties to take the side home.

Haris Rauf, Irfan Pathan and Hardik Pandya have the most wickets in India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup matches. All the three bowlers have picked 6 wickets each.
Former Pakistan bowler Mohammad Asif scalped four wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs in the Group Stage match of the inaugural T20 World Cup back in 2007. The match was eventually tied and India won in the Bowl Out.
