Early Blows For India

India opted to bat first but suffered a nightmare start in New Chandigarh.

Pacer Jayden Seales struck twice in the second over. He removed Shubman Gill for 1 before cleaning up Virat Kohli for a first-ball duck.

With Kohli walking back on a golden duck, India slumped to a precarious 4 for 2 inside three overs.

Rohit And Gaikwad Rebuild

Rohit Sharma took charge to steady the ship with calculated counter-attacks.

He found solid support from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who compiled a calm 57 off 69 balls.

Together, the pair stitched a crucial 115-run stand for the third wicket.

Rohit looked set for three figures but fell agonisingly short on 92 off 85 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and three sixes.

KL Rahul Goes On Rampage

KL Rahul walked in at number five and changed the complexion of the game.

The wicketkeeper-batter brought up his ninth ODI ton in just 80 balls with a flurry of elegant strokes.

In the final over, Rahul tore into Keemo Paul, collecting 20 runs (6, 6, 4, 2, 2).

Rahul walked off unbeaten on 129 off 87 balls, pushing India to a massive 351 for 7.

Hope Anchors Steep Chase

The West Indies refused to back down in their pursuit of 352.

Mohammed Siraj struck early to bowl John Campbell for 10.

Skipper Shai Hope then joined forces with Amir Jangoo to launch a solid counter-attack.

The duo added 103 runs for the second wicket before Jangoo was run out for a brisk 67 off 56 balls.

Thrilling Finish In Mullanpur

Naman Dhir struck next, claiming Sherfane Rutherford (24) for his maiden international wicket.

Keemo Paul provided late fireworks with a quick 44 off 35 deliveries.

Hope stayed unflappable, reaching his hundred off 104 balls and finishing with an unbeaten 162.

The West Indies sealed the game in 48.2 overs with five wickets in hand.
