Fresh doubts have emerged over India’s scheduled white-ball tour of Bangladesh, with the six-match series once again finding itself under a cloud despite positive developments in recent weeks. The latest uncertainty comes after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) unexpectedly hit pause on its media rights process, raising fresh questions about the fate of the white ball series.
According to Cricbuzz’s report, the BCB had invited bids for the television and digital media rights on July 1 and announced that the bidding process would conclude on July 22. However, nearly two weeks later, the board is yet to release the Expression of Interest (EoI) documents, leaving broadcasters particularly those in India waiting for clarity.
While there has been no official indication that the tour has been postponed or cancelled, the sudden halt has sparked speculation over whether new obstacles have emerged ahead of India’s proposed visit.

A BCB official told Cricbuzz that the delay in releasing the EoI documents is part of a reassessment of the market and is not directly linked to India’s tour. However, the timing of the decision has fuelled multiple theories surrounding the stalled process.
One suggestion is that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was not pleased with the BCB putting the media rights up for sale before holding discussions with the Indian board. Another theory points to possible conversations between officials from both boards during the ICC Annual Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland, where representatives of the cricketing bodies had recently met.
Neither board has commented publicly on these reports, but the absence of any movement in the rights process has only increased the uncertainty surrounding the series.
