India vs Afghanistan: What Happened In IND vs AFG 2nd T20I?

India defeated Afghanistan in the second T20I in Delhi to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series. Chasing 160, the Men in Blue produced another commanding batting display after Afghanistan posted 159/8 in their 20 overs.

Afghanistan’s innings featured a late recovery after India’s bowlers had applied early pressure. India’s chase was driven by an explosive start, with Sanju Samson providing the major highlight.

The wicketkeeper-batter struck a rapid half-century, continuing the momentum after India had already taken control of the contest. His aggressive strokeplay put Afghanistan’s attack under immediate pressure.

Rashid Khan then gave Afghanistan hope with a three-wicket burst, breaking India’s rhythm and removing key batters during the chase. However, the visitors could not sustain the pressure for long enough to turn the match around.

The result strengthened India’s grip on the series after their seven-wicket victory in the opening T20I, when Abhishek Sharma smashed 82 off 32 balls. The third T20I is scheduled for September 17 at the same Delhi venue.
