India and Pakistan meet for the Asian Games 2026 men’s cricket gold medal on Saturday, October 3, with the two neighbours set for their first-ever cricket meeting at the Asian Games. The final will be played at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, with both sides arriving unbeaten in the tournament.
India, the defending Asian Games champions, reached the final after a dominant semifinal against Sri Lanka. After posting 169/7, India bowled Sri Lanka out for just 45 in 9.5 overs to complete a 124-run victory. Ishan Kishan led the way with an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls, while the bowling attack gave Sri Lanka very little room to recover.
Pakistan had a much shorter semifinal against Bangladesh because of rain. Their match was reduced to 13 overs per side, with Bangladesh making 111/7 before Pakistan chased the target in 11.3 overs. Hasan Nawaz and Abdul Samad finished the chase to send Pakistan into their first men’s Asian Games cricket final.
The final also brings together two sides with plenty of recent T20I history. India have won the last five completed T20I meetings between the teams and lead the overall T20I head-to-head 14-3.Â
