The Indian men’s cricket team is gearing up for a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, beginning on the Independence Day of India, August 15, 2026. There have been a few developments in the Indian camp ahead of the practice match. First, reports suggest that the Indian management is unhappy with the amount of grass left on the pitch for the warm-up game, as they want to prepare for turning tracks.
On the injury front, top-order batter Sai Sudharsan is recovering from a foot niggle and is expected to join the squad only midway through the practice match. Additionally, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Test series and has been replaced by uncapped pacer Auqib Nabi.
