It was a feel-good end to the internet’s already feel-good story this Wednesday as the Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj met his exaggerated doppelganger. The security man, who became an overnight celebrity for his unbelievable resemblance to the cricketer during the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Swearing In Ceremony on Sunday, May 10, visited the M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai with the franchise organising the meeting. The official franchise video shows the two talking and laughing with each other at Chepauk as fans celebrate the union of the so-called “Anshul Kamboj twin”.

Anshul Kamboj Meets Viral Security Personnel At Chepauk Stadium

A video posted from the official CSK handle showed the very moment at which the IPL 2026 star Anshul greeted his flourishing twin at the team training session. Astonished and entertained, Anshul looked on excitedly at the security official who created chaos among thousands of viewers during the just-concluded Vijay Swearing-In Ceremony, while he was comparing notes and posing for images in the stands of the well-known Chepauk Stadium.

The Story Behind The Viral Lookalike During Vijay Swearing-In Ceremony

The mystery unfolded earlier this week when Joseph Vijay was sworn in as the CM of Tamil Nadu. During the live feed of the Vijay Swearing-In Ceremony, eagle-eyed fans identified a member of security who was standing behind the dais who looked remarkably similar to Anshul Kamboj. Instantly, screenshots of the security officer went viral on X and Instagram, with people asking comically if the CSK pacer had acquired a second job within the state security department.

Even a few legendary cricketers could not resist the joke as the resemblance was uncanny. The security member, though, was one of the high-quality team members who were responsible for the high-profile event at Chennai, but never thought his face would be a talking point of the IPL 2026 season.
