Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are certain to have the services of Dewald Brevis for their April 11 game against the Delhi Capitals at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium. During a talk show, the South African batter himself revealed that he can’t wait to see the fans at the stadium on the 11th when he takes the field.
Dewald Brevis’ absence in the middle-order felt by the Chennai Super Kings
The South African hard-hitter had replaced Gurjapneet Singh in the five-time champions’ ranks amid the 2025 edition and had a promising season, clattering 225 runs in six matches alongside a strike rate of 180 with two fifties. Brevis, who started his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians in 2022, was retained by the Super Kings ahead of the mini-auction to form an integral part of their future. However, side strain has forced him to miss the fixtures against the Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). With the Super Kings starting their campaign with a hat-trick of defeats, they desperately need Brevis’ impetus in the middle-order.
Here’s the video as Brevis said during an event:
“Can’t wait to see you guys on the 11th. Any match anywhere we play.”

Chennai Super Kings concede 250 runs for the first time in IPL history
In what was CSK’s third consecutive defeat in IPL 2026, they had conceded 250 for the first time in the tournament history. Phil Salt (46), Devdutt Padikkal (50) and Tim David (70*) lifted the defending champions to an imposing total of 250 in 20 overs, setting the Yellow Army an improbable 251 for victory. Sarfaraz Khan (50), Prashant Veer (43) and Jamie Overton (37) did their best to take their side closer to the target but the Super Kings still fell 43 runs short.
With Brevis set to make a comeback in CSK’s ranks, anticipation will also be on MS Dhoni’s return as the legendary keeper-batter’s calf strain has kept him out of the opening three matches of the tournament.
