Just after the IPL 2026 final defeat against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a threatening incident was brought about for the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans camp, as information regarding the Gujarat Titans team bus fire outbreak surfaced. As the entire cricket fraternity was en route out of the Narendra Modi Stadium complexes for the squad, the players were trapped with a major team bus short-circuit right in the middle of the highway as all the transportation authorities made their way towards the venue. Based on ground reports that have been coming in, a sudden chaos and commotion were encountered by everyone when the passenger cabin inside was engulfed by dense and suffocating black smoke, with the driver swerving the vehicle to an emergency halt at the side of the road. Luckily, within a few seconds, all the players and the support staff managed to escape the bus with everyone being unhurt during the hour-long crisis at midnight.

Gujarat Titans Squad Evacuated Safely After Short Circuit Disaster
The shock mid-road emergency evacuation took place a few hours after the franchise’s tournament campaign had ended. As the party were travelling from the edge of the stadium grounds to their rooms at the local hotel, an electrical short circuit brought the team coach to a grinding halt. Dense clouds of white smoke soon filled the air conditioning unit within the coach, forcing security to order all touring party out using emergency exits within a few minutes.

All players and support staff members had to wait on the open roadside while local authorities coordinated structural support. Team management spent nearly an hour communicating with local transit vendors before a replacement luxury coach arrived to ferry the shaken squad back to their base.
