While David Miller is a marauder of the cricket ball, even a drone seems to not be safe from the South African hard-hitter. During one of the practice sessions amid the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In a video shared by the franchise, the Delhi Capitals batter had seemingly broke the drone after hitting it with a bottle during a practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
David Miller hits the drone with the bottle
Young batter Sameer Rizvi was goofing around with the remote, operating the drone, recording his teammates’ activities. Towering seamer Kyle Jamieson could not reach the drone despite the jump combined with his height of 6’8. Miller, who was standing beyond the boundary line, had tossed a bottle towards the drone and seemingly left a huge crack on it.

Sameer Rizvi stars in Delhi Capitals’ nervy victory over the Lucknow Super Giants
Rizvi, meanwhile, played a vital role in the Capitals’ victory over the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana to open their IPL 2026 campaign on a positive note. The right-handed batter had walked into the crease when the Capitals were teetering at 20/2 and witnessed two more wickets as the Super Giants left the opposition reeling at 26/4 in pursuit of 142. But the visitors didn’t lose even one wicket after that as Rizvi brought up his half-century off only 36 deliveries in the 14th over of the innings, putting the Capitals on the cusp of victory. The 22-year-old played an unbeaten knock of 70.
Tristan Stubbs, on the other hand, largely played second fiddle and stayed not out on 39 off 32 deliveries as the duo stitched an unbroken stand of 119, guiding the Capitals to victory by six wickets and 17 balls to spare. But the Capitals will walk into Mumbai Indians, who also started their campaign with a win.
Hardik Pandya and co. might start as marginal favourites as they barely broke a sweat while chasing down 221 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium.
