SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad have unleashed Praful Hinge as he wrecked the Rajasthan Royals with a triple-wicket over on debut in IPL 2026 game on April 13, Monday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Defending 217 after a decent batting performance, Hinge breathed fire to remove Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Lhuan-dre Pretorious to push the Royals on the back foot early on. Having become the first bowler in IPL history to take three scalps on debut, it is worth exploring the journey of the youngster.

SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: Who is Praful Hinge?

Born in Vidarbha, Nagpur on January 18, 2002, the right-arm pacer has built his reputation in first-class cricket and delivered a promising performance in the 2025-26 edition of the Ranji Trophy, snaring 16 scalps in six matches, averaging a decent 26.37. Overall, his 27 scalps have come in 10 red-ball games at 26.66 with a solitary four-wicket haul. The 2025-26 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy saw the 24-year-old bag five wickets in as many innings en route to Vidarbha’s win.

Nevertheless, Hinge’s exposure to T20 cricket has been limited, making only one appearance as it came in the 2025-26 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Opening the bowling with veteran Indian speedster Umesh Yadav, he bagged tidy figures of 4-0-23-1 against Andhra Pradesh as Vidarbha defended 154 to win by 19 runs.

SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: How much Praful Hinge go for in the IPL 2026 auction?

Based on playing only one T20I, Hinge was picked up by the SunRisers for his base price of ₹30 lakh, taking some punt on the youngster. With the likes of Jaydev Unadkat and Harshal Patel failing to live up to the expectations, the SunRisers decided to blood the youngster this time around. Hinge grabbed the opportunity with both hands, dismissing the dangerous Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for a first-ball duck followed by Jurel and Pretorious without scoring too. The right-arm pacer returned to dismiss Royals captain Riyan Parag in his second over to pin them on the mat.

Earlier, Ishan Kishan’s 91 spearheaded the SunRisers’ total of 216/6, with Heinrich Klaasen (40) and Nitish Reddy (28) also chipping in with crucial contributions.
