SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad have ended Rajasthan Royals’ unbeaten run in IPL 2026 as they lit up the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 13, Monday to resurrect their campaign with a convincing 57-run victory. All ten franchises in Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals have now played at least four games in this edition.

SRH vs RR, IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad sizzle at the home ground against all odds

SunRisers Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan stood tall, having walked out only in the second ball of the innings after Jofra Archer dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the very first ball of the match, registering his second duck of the tournament. Kishan took his time and launched a calculated assault, bringing up his half-century off only 30 deliveries. The southpaw was particularly destructive after Travis Head’s scratchy stay ended at 18. He added 88 off 39 deliveries with Heinrich Klaasen, who also chipped in with 40. Nitish Kumar also played his part with four sixes in his 13-ball 28, while Salil Arora also struck a couple of lusty blows to lift the SunRisers to 216/6 in 20 overs.

The Royals would have fancied chasing 217, given the fearsome form of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, a seemingly unknown prospect in Praful Hinge blew the top three for ducks, becoming the first bowler to take three wickets in the first over on debut, jolting the Royals early on. Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja strung a 118-run stand but the required rate kept creeping up due to the early loss of wickets. The floodgates opened for the SunRisers after Ferreira perished for 69. Tushar Deshpande, who struck three maximums in his 11-ball 25, was the last man to be dismissed as the 2016 champions won by 59 runs as SRH ended the table-toppers’ winning run.
