Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have unveiled a new jersey ahead of the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), seemingly in the hope that it will change their fortunes after not winning a title since their debut in 2022 alongside the Gujarat Titans. Nevertheless, it has been met with some hilarious reactions, especially those who have disagreed with the colour of the jersey.
LSG slightly jersey similar to football club Mohun Bagan
The Super Giants’ jersey is similar to that of renowned football club Mohun Bagan with alternate stripes of red and blue. The jersey also welcomes JK Super Cement as the Principal Sponsor of the kit, while KEI Wires & Cables is the new partner. According to the official website of the franchise, the new jersey reflects ‘resilience under pressure, progress and confidence that comes from building the right way.’
However, the outlook of the netizens represented something else as showcased below:
changing jersey changing logo won’t give you an ipl trophy for that you have to make changes in your management lsg✅

It is horrible. They look like a cheap copy of themselves, why can’t IPL teams design better jerseys? It’s worst than the previous LSG kit.

“The season is close. We are ready” – Sanjiv Goenka
Franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka underlined that the jersey is a representation of where the Super Giants are headed and it is symbolic to how they opt to listen to their people, stating on X:
“26 crore people across Uttar Pradesh now have a team that represents them on the biggest stage in world cricket. That is a responsibility we think about every single day. Every decision, from the players we pick to the jersey we wear, is made with this in mind. This new jersey is a reflection of where we are headed. A team that evolves, that listens to its people, that takes pride in how it presents itself. The season is close. We are ready.”
The Super Giants had reached the playoffs in 2022 and 2023 but failed to go beyond the group stage in the following two seasons.
