IPL 2026: The BCCI has finally revealed the schedule for the first 20 days of the much-awaited IPL 2026, which is scheduled to get underway on March 28. The BCCI has decided to release the list of fixtures in two parts because of the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, the fixtures for KKR are also out. The Kolkata Knight Riders had a difficult run in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. After lifting the trophy in 2024, the team could not repeat that success and ended the tournament in eighth place.
IPL 2025 Recap: Tough Season for Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR was seen struggling to maintain momentum throughout the season. The campaign also brought a change in leadership. Ajinkya Rahane took over as captain following the departure of Shreyas Iyer. While the team showed flashes of promise, they were unable to find consistent form and managed to win only five of their 14 matches.
Even though the season was challenging for KKR, Rahane stood out with his performances. The captain led by example and finished as the team’s highest run scorer, scoring 390 runs during the tournament.
KKR also had a few positives with the ball. Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora were the team’s best bowlers, with both picking up 17 wickets each over the course of the season.
In the end, Kolkata wrapped up their IPL 2025 campaign with five wins and seven defeats, while two matches ended without a result.
