Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer’s sister Shresta Iyer has revealed taking down the video of her allegedly mocking the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) following the washed out game at the Eden Gardens on April 6, Monday. With the Punjab Kings star disclosing that she faced backlash after posting the video, she has now stated that she decided to take the video down out of holding respect for her brother and PBKS. Additionally, Shresta claimed she has been receiving threats.

The video in context was uploaded after the washout where Shresta said, Saade Punjabiyan da dil vadda hunda ae. Lo, ditta ek point. (We Punjabis are big-hearted. So, we gave you a point). The Knight Riders had come into the game against the Punjab Kings without a win or a point. The three-time champions could well have lost their third game in a row as they slumped to 25/2 in 3.4 overs but showers ruled the roost for the day as the match couldn’t resume.

In one of her latest Instagram stories, Shresta had wrote:
“I’ve taken down my recent video as it seems it was misunderstood by some. It was meant to be light-hearted banter, but I respect not everyone saw it that way. However, it’s quite upsetting to not just negativity but also threat messages over it. That’s something I didn’t expect, especially for something that was never intended to harm anyone. I’m not removing the video because I believe I did something wrong but because I respect my brother and his team and I don’t want this space to turn into one filled with negativity. Let’s try to be a little kinder and more understanding with each other.”
Punjab Kings to play their next game against the SunRisers Hyderabad
Meanwhile, Punjab Kings, who were the finalists in IPL 2025, will next face the SunRisers Hyderabad on April 11 in Mullanpur.
The SunRisers’ form have been shaky in the three matches played, winning against the Knight Riders but losing to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
