IPL 2027: With trade news about Hardik Pandya gathering plenty of traction in the last few weeks and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) firmly being in the mix, the Yellow Army has released a cryptic post on their social media handles on July 11, Saturday. The post released by CSK on social media saw the words ‘Trade talks – Open’ as fans strongly speculated that the all-rounder is being traded to the Super Kings from the Mumbai Indians.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had categorically refused any trade talks with any other franchise previously despite several reports claiming that Pandya is set to be traded to the Super Kings. There were also reports that every franchise other than the SunRisers Hyderabad and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are interested in acquiring Pandya. While the cryptic post on X drew speculations from fans, there are no reliable sources to confirm whether the seam-bowling all-rounder is indeed being traded or getting traded to the Super Kings. While the Mumbai Indians have finished 9th in the points table, Pandya’s own form with bat and ball also left a lot to be desired. In 10 games, the 32-year-old managed only 206 runs at 22.89 alongside a decent strike rate of 138.26. With the ball, he managed only four wickets at 64.75. Mumbai Indians’ four wins came against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gujarat Titans and the Punjab Kings.
Will Hardik Pandya be appointed skipper if traded to the Chennai Super Kings?
If the news of Pandya’s trade to the Super Kings becomes official, it also remains to be seen whether the all-rounder will lead the Yellow Army, replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has struggled to inspire the Yellow Army in this three seasons in charge.
Nevertheless, if the Super Kings do decide to appoint a new captain, Sanju Samson will likely be the frontrunner to replace Gaikwad.
