With reports stating that the original Club World Cup Trophy is with Trump in his Oval Office, the official and formal workplace of USA President, there is also speculation over whether he will keep the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy with him too.

According to reports, the 80-year-old had sarcastically asked whether he could keep the FIFA World Cup Trophy during a recent visit to the White House. Nevertheless, the trophy strictly remains under FIFA’s supervision. However, the USA President will reportedly be allowed to lift the World Cup on the stage along with the champions following the final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. He had notably lifted the Club World Cup too when Chelsea beat PSG in the final last summer to win the title.
According to sources, as claimed by TalkSport, the White House Insiders believe Trump will stay on the stage to celebrate with the World Cup-winning side. The veteran politician is also likely to attend a few FIFA World Cup games. The report further claimed that both Mexican and Canadian officials will be invited at the closing ceremony but it’s unclear whether they will be awarded the same access to the glittering trophy as Trump. Most recently, the 80-year-old had attended the Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. Furthermore, the President was also present at the US Open men’s final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in 2025, and the College Football Playoff National Championship between Miami and Indiana in early 2026.

Meanwhile, the historic 48-team tournament is off to a thrilling start, with champion sides like Brazil, Portugal, Spain and Belgium were denied victories in their first games as the underdogs put on spirited performances to hold them to draws. The most high-scoring match so far has been between England and Croatia.
The two sides were tied at 2-2 at half time but England edged ahead after the first 45 minutes as Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford netted goals to make it 4-2.
