Neymar says his main goal right now is to return to the Brazil national team. The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star has not played for Brazil since October 2023. He admits he is unsure about his long-term future and says he could even consider retirement in December. For now, he is taking things one day at a time. He believes this year is very important, not just for his club Santos, but also for Brazil and for himself.

Neymar explained that he wanted to come back fully fit this season. That is why he was rested for some matches. He knows people have been talking about his situation, but he says they do not understand what he goes through every day. Santos created a careful recovery plan for him. Even though he wanted to help the team earlier, he chose to wait until he felt completely ready. He wanted to return without pain, fear, or any physical problems. He said he felt good in his last match and is happy to feel stronger again. Still, he knows he needs more time to reach his best level. He is working hard to regain his rhythm and fitness step by step.

Neymar is Brazil’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals in 128 matches since his debut in 2010. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has challenged him to prove he deserves a place in the squad again. World Cup winner Kleberson believes Neymar should be part of Brazil’s 2026 World Cup squad. He admits Neymar is not fully fit yet because of injuries and limited playing time. However, he says Neymar’s talent is special and unmatched in Brazil. According to him, once Neymar regains fitness and confidence, he can make a big difference for the team.

Brazil will start their FIFA World Cup campaign against Morocco on June 13, 2026. Brazil have been drawn in Group C along with Scotland, Morocco and Haiti.
