One of the Pakistan Super League (PSL)'s premier franchises has signed Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani for the 2026 season. As Shamar Joseph from the West Indies had to drop out for personal reasons, the franchise moved fast to fill the gap.
Muzarabani’s got a real knack for getting bounce and movement, even on flat pitches, and he’ll link up with the squad in the next few days as they get ready for another shot at the title. With this move, the team keeps its reputation for having one of the most dangerous and flexible bowling attacks in the league.
The three-time champions, Islamabad United, have officially announced that Muzarbani will be joining their squad as the main replacement for Shamar. The team of Islamabad United has been known for a long time in the cricketing world for its data, driven analytical approach to scouting and acquiring versatile players, and therefore, the acquisition of Muzarabani perfectly fits their high-performance culture.

The addition of Muzarabani adds a different perspective to the Islamabad bowling lineup. Almost seven feet tall, his stature gives him a natural edge on the Pakistani wickets, which generally favour bowlers who pitch the ball along the ground. Muzarabani was not unfamiliar with the PSL setting, as he had already proven his capability by performing against the best T20 strikers in the world.
Muzarabani is a picture-perfect inclusion to the Islamabad lineup after having just completed standout heroics in the T20 World Cup 2026. The lanky speedster who was playing in the drift in Colombo just 3 days back, took the Australian cricket line, up by surprise in the greatest way when he bagged a career best 4/17 and led Zimbabwe to a stunning 23 runs victory.
Muzarabani has also made cherished his name for himself among the elites, as only the third Zimbabwean bowler to have reached the 100 wickets T20I milestone. After the start against Oman, where he had huge success with 3/16, his knack for being unplayable on the sluggish Asian tracks against world-class lineups qualifies him as a top-tier addition to the Pakistani defence.
