Amid the escalating war situation between Israel and Iran, loud explosions have also been heard in Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh, according to news agency AFP. It is also the city where Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo and his other Al Nassr teammates are staying amid the ongoing edition of Saudi Pro League.
Saudi Arabia caught in the crossfire in the war between Iran and US
AFP has also reported that Iran announced all several countries have become the targets after Iran was attacked jointly by US and Israel. Nevertheless, Qatar’s defence ministry on Saturday proclaimed it had neutralised all the missiles targeting them. But it has raised questions about the safety of Ronaldo and co. Al Nassr’s next game is against Al Fayha at the King Salman Sport City Stadium in Majmah, a city which is located near Riyadh.

Cristiano Ronaldo only 35 goals away from touching stunning milestone of 100
During the fixture against Al-Najma FC, the 41-year-old Portuguese legend netted his 965th goal, making himself only 35 short of reaching the historic 1000 mark. It was Ronaldo, who opened the goal scoring as he converted the penalty into a goal, just seven minutes into the contest. Although the veteran athlete is known for bringing out his SIU celebration, he instead dished out the slam dunk one, doing so with a series of small jumps while raising his right arm and flexing his wrist. It is a notable celebration among NBA superstars. Since his 30th birthday, Ronaldo has netted 500 goals.
Al Nassr are currently second in the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League points table with 19 victories in 23 games, accumulating 58 points.
