Jaylen Brown is settling into life with the Philadelphia 76ers and has already started imagining how the team could celebrate if it wins an NBA championship. After an offseason that saw the Sixers add both Brown and LeBron James, the All-Star forward revealed he proposed an unusual title celebration involving a group skydiving trip, inspired by his own recent experience in Egypt.

Speaking during a Twitch stream, Brown said he invited his new teammates to join him for the jump if Philadelphia lifts the NBA trophy. While some may have entertained the idea, LeBron James quickly made it clear he would not be taking part, turning Brown’s ambitious celebration plan into a light-hearted talking point ahead of the 2026-27 season.

LeBron James Quickly Rejects Jaylen Brown’s Bold Championship Celebration Plan

Jaylen Brown has already started imagining what a championship celebration with the Philadelphia 76ers could look like, even before the new season begins. During a recent livestream, the All-Star forward revealed that he challenged his new teammates to go skydiving together if they win the 2027 NBA title. However, one player quickly ruled himself out of the plan. Brown recalled, “I told the team. I told VJ, LeBron, Max, and Embiid, and you can ask them. I told VJ, LeBron, Max, and Embiid we win the championship, everybody going skydiving. Bron texted me back and said, ‘Boy, hell nah.'”

The idea stemmed from Brown’s recent trip to Egypt, where he decided to face his fear of heights by skydiving near the Pyramids of Giza. Sharing the experience on Instagram, Brown posted a video of the jump and wrote, “Jaylen was afraid of heights, so he went skydiving. At some point in our lives we all will have to take a leap of faith and jump even if you are scared and trust God will always lead the way.” He also added a light-hearted message, “Don’t tell my mom I did this btw.”

While LeBron James had no interest in joining the proposed celebration, Brown’s comments offered a glimpse into the chemistry already developing within Philadelphia’s revamped roster. The exchange between Brown, James, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe highlighted the early camaraderie inside the team as the 76ers prepare for a season with championship aspirations.

Philadelphia 76ers Enter 2026-27 Season as Serious NBA Championship Contenders

The Philadelphia 76ers may not be viewed as the deepest team in the NBA compared to contenders like the New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs, but they have assembled a roster capable of competing for a championship. With LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Joel Embiid leading the starting lineup, Philadelphia enters the 2026-27 season with one of the league’s most talented groups. The team also has reliable depth through players such as Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons.

Despite the star power, the Sixers still have questions to answer before they can be considered favorites. Balancing a lineup filled with offensive talent while maintaining a strong defensive identity will be one of the team’s biggest challenges. Finding the right offensive system to maximize each player’s strengths will also be crucial, with LeBron James expected to take on a primary playmaking role as Philadelphia works toward its championship ambitions.
