Additionally, they also need a favour from the Mumbai Indians to defeat the Rajasthan Royals on Sunday afternoon, given the latter are on 14 points. If the Punjab Kings beat the Super Giants, they will get to 15 points, meaning the Knight Riders must beat the Capitals and will need a higher net run-rate too.
The three-time champions will face the Delhi Capitals for the second time this season, having defeated them comfortably at the Arun Jaitley Stadium earlier in the tournament. Finn Allen’s 47-ball 100 ensured that the Knight Riders chased down 143 in an innings that lasted only 14.2 overs along with eight wickets to spare. The Capitals are also coming off a big win against the Rajasthan Royals and should be high on confidence ahead of facing the Knight Riders.
