Liverpool vs Atlético Madrid LIVE: Liverpool will begin their Champions League campaign at home against Atlético Madrid, with Andoni Iraola preparing for his first European match in charge of the Reds. Liverpool have made an unbeaten start to the domestic campaign and will be looking to build momentum after a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town.
Atlético Madrid, meanwhile, will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Athletic Club in La Liga. Diego Simeone’s side have plenty of Champions League experience and will look to frustrate Liverpool with their disciplined defensive structure and counter-attacking approach.
The match also recalls the opening of the league phase last season at Anfield, when Liverpool grabbed a dramatic 3-2 victory. With both sides looking to begin their European campaign with three points, another intriguing contest awaits at Anfield.
