CSK vs LSG, IPL 2026: A member who was seemingly from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) support staff was seen using his phone amid the IPL 2026 match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 10, Sunday at the Chepauk. In a picture going viral on social media, the member, wearing a practice jersey of the Super Giants, was seemingly talking on the phone and could be fined by the BCCI.

CSK vs LSG, IPL 2026: Has any team been fined before for using phone in the tournament history?

Rajasthan Royals had come massively under the scanner earlier in the tournament when their manager Romi Bhinder was caught using his phone in the dugout during the IPL 2026 clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. However, Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the BCCI only fined him ₹1 lakh for doing so, treating it as the first offence. Notably, Bhinder also issued an unconditional apology. However, another breach of the same nature could invite a strict action from the BCCI.

It remains unclear which role the member in question holds within the Super Giants but a section of fans have argued that he wasn’t using the phone within the dugout.

CSK vs LSG, IPL 2026: How have the Lucknow Super Giants performed so far?

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant-led Super Giants have experienced a woeful season thus far and are already in a must-win territory after sustaining seven defeats in 10 matches. The win against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) proved to be their first after six defeats in a row, narrowly keeping them in the playoffs race. However, even with all the wins they will struggle to reach the top four, given the net run-rate and the top four in firm contention to reach the playoffs.

As far as the current state of the match goes, the Super Giants lost the toss and have set the five-time champions a formidable 204 for victory at the Chepauk. Josh Inglis set the tone with his sparkling 85, while Himmat Singh and Shahbaz Ahmed laid the finishing touches.
