LSG vs RR, IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag’s struggles continued in IPL 2026 as he fell for another low score in the IPL 2026 game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 22, Wednesday at the Ekana International Stadium. Having failed to score substantial runs in all seven innings, the right-handed batter has faced backlash as fans believe the only player the Royals must drop is Parag due to his consistent failures despite being retained for ₹14 crore.
LSG vs RR, IPL 2026: How many runs has Riyan Parag scored in the tournament so far?
Parag, who replaced the outgoing Sanju Samson as Rajasthan Royals’ skipper, has scores of 14*, 8, 20, 3, 4 and 12. Wednesday’s game against the Super Giants saw him come to the crease in the third over of the innings after Mohammed Shami sent Dhruv Jurel packing for a golden duck. I still can’t understand why Riyan Parag was made the captain of Rajasthan Royals. He is not even fit to be in playing 11. Jaiswal/Jurel or atleast Jadeja should have been the captain.@rajasthanroyals #LSGvsRR pic.twitter.com/1gLwEC5AiA

Rajasthan Royals are coming off back-to-back losses after four consecutive wins
Meanwhile, the Royals began their IPL 2026 campaign with four successive wins but crashed to back-to-back losses to the SunRisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, with the batting frailties exposed. The batting frailties have once again be exposed after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal perished without scoring much.
The Super Giants have also been inconsistent, starting their season with a defeat to the Delhi Capitals. After wins over the SunRisers and Knight Riders, Super Giants lost to the Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings.
