RIDERS CONGRATULATING EACH OTHER STORY: Matt Beers and Axelle Dubau-Prevot retained their orange jerseys in the men and women's categories after stage three of the inaugural Gravel Burn.  Setting off from Graaff Reinet, the so-called Gem of the Karoo and South Africa’s fourth oldest town, Tuesday's action (October 28) saw riders brave the semi-desert region's high temperatures and tough climbs across a 90km route.  Switzerland's Simon Pellaud improved on his third place finish on Monday, topping the podium with a winning time of two hours, 43 minutes and 35 seconds.  Three seconds behind him was French gravel champion Hugo Drechou who pipped Travis Stedman to second with his South African compatriot Beers eight seconds back in fourth.  American Lauren Stephens, meanwhile, edged an even closer women's race with just one second separating her, South Africa's Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio in second and Hayley Preen of Canada in third.  Like Beers, France's Dubau-Prevot also finished fourth, two seconds off the winning pace to ensure she stays in orange.  The 800-kilometre (500-mile) seven-day gravel bike race across South Africa continues on Wednesday in Blaauwater.  (Production: Conal Quinn)
