MI vs LSG, IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are battling for survival as they lock horns against one another in Match 47 of IPL 2026, with Wankhede Stadium set to host the clash. With only four points in their kitty, both Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants are in must-win territory. As such, the injury and availability of some of the key players also remain in focus, with Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Inglis capturing attention.
We look at some of the key players and their availability for MI vs LSG IPL 2026 clash
4) Matthew Breetzke – returned home
Matthew Breetzke has flown home for personal reasons, meaning the South African batter will not be available for this match and for the entire season too.
3) Josh Inglis – available for selection
Having been bought for a massive sum of ₹8.60 crore, Australian keeper-batter Josh Inglis remains available for the clash against the Mumbai Indians after missing all eight games. Inglis’ availability will inevitably be a boost for the Super Giants, whose batting unit has been a massive letdown and had an excellent season for the Punjab Kings last year en route to the final. The right-hander mustered 278 runs in 11 games alongside a strike rate of 162.78.
2) Rohit Sharma – reportedly available for selection
A few unverified reports had claimed that Rohit Sharma was available for the match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) which the Mumbai Indians eventually lost but they decided to continue with Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks at the top, given their good performance against the SunRisers Hyderabad. But the five-time champions need the former skipper in their line-up as their playoff qualification remains on the line. Should Rohit regain full fitness from the hamstring injury that has forced him to miss four games, he is expected to slot right back into the XI.
1) Jasprit Bumrah – available for selection
While there seems to be no apparent injury concern for Jasprit Bumrah, the right-arm speedster has looked out of sorts and jaded in the nine matches played so far, taking only three wickets. He also needed six matches for a wicket. Despite not having an injury concern, the management could give their premier fast bowler a break for this match.
