PSL 2026: Mohammad Rizwan has been under pressure after Rawalpindiz suffered yet another loss in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2026 season. With four defeats in four matches, criticism has been coming from all directions.
However, Rizwan has found strong support from his coach Justin Kemp. Kemp described Rizwan as a legend and backed him to bounce back soon. He also made it clear that he remains satisfied with Rizwan’s efforts despite the team’s poor run so far.
Mohammad Rizwan’s Dismissal Sparks Online Reactions
Rizwan also found himself at the center of attention during a recent match against the Multan Sultans. The experienced batter was dismissed for 19 off 13 balls, but it wasn’t just the wicket that got people talking.
During the broadcast, commentators made an unusual comparison, likening him to a ‘bus stand’ driver. This came after Rizwan was heard on the stump mic saying, “Chalo, Chalo.” The moment quickly spread across social media and became a talking point among fans.
The incident happened in the sixth over when Rizwan was given out after being trapped in front. He decided to take the DRS, but the clip of the moment soon went viral online.
Rizwan Reflects on Team’s Struggles
After the seven-wicket loss, Rizwan spoke about the team’s current situation and what needs to improve moving forward.
“Hopefully the luck changes in Karachi and the conditions will change, also our planning will change. It happens in franchise cricket – if you make a change, you need to make 2-3 changes. Have to look at the foreigners as well and also you have to play the Emerging players. We try and go with a balanced side. The toss has not gone in favor in the last 3-4 matches, early on the ball is gripping. That’s why there’s a margin of 10-20 runs and the results have not gone our way,” Rizwan said after the seven-wicket loss.
What Lies Ahead for Rawalpindiz
While Rawalpindiz are struggling, the Multan Sultans continue to dominate the tournament, sitting comfortably at the top of the points table with four wins from five matches.
Rawalpindiz will now look to turn things around when they face the Quetta Gladiators in their next game on April 10.
