Alcaraz and Sinner Maintain Dominance On Clay

Carlos Alcaraz put on a masterclass in aggressive clay court tennis, dismantling the eighth seed Alexander Bublik in just over an hour. After a competitive start in the first set, Alcaraz unleashed a flurry of drop shots and heavy forehands to secure a “bagel” in the second set, winning 6-0. Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner continued his flawless run by neutralising the powerful serve of Felix Auger-Aliassime. Sinner was broken only once throughout the 92-minute contest, showcasing his improved movement on the dirt. The Italian efficiency in the crucial moments ensured a 6-3, 6-4 victory, setting up a blockbuster semi-final clash that fans have been anticipating since the draw was released.

Local Hero Valentin Vacherot Stuns The Field

The story of the tournament continues to be the Monegasque wildcard Valentin Vacherot. After taking down Hubert Hurkacz in the previous round, Vacherot produced another inspired performance to defeat fifth seed Alex de Minaur in a gruelling three-set battle. Vacherot used the vocal home support to stay resilient after losing the second set, eventually breaking de Minaur late in the third to win 6-3.

He will now face Carlos Alcaraz in a David versus Goliath semi-final today. Additionally, Alexander Zverev survived a massive scare from Brazilian teenage sensation Joao Fonseca. The three-set marathon lasted nearly two and a half hours, with Zverev’s experience eventually prevailing over Fonseca’s raw power in the deciding set.
