India won the T20 World Cup 2026, becoming the first team to take three titles and keep their crown after winning at home. The crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium was wild with joy. The moment that really got fans excited? A rare post from two cricket icons, MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir, on social media.

Just after India beat New Zealand by 96 runs, Dhoni ended his long silence on Instagram. He was there at the final with Rohit Sharma and Kapil Dev. He gave a special shout-out to India’s head coach, Gambhir. The coach’s calm, focused style has stayed a key part of how he leads the team. Fans were stunned. It seemed like a simple post, but it carried so much meaning.

MS Dhoni’s Viral “Coach Sahab” Post

In his recent Instagram post, Dhoni hailed the historic achievement in Ahmedabad and shared a playful remark about Gambhir’s rare post victory smile.

Gautam Gambhir’s Heartfelt Response

The exchange turned out to be more memorable when normally serious Gambhir responded affectionately to his ex-captain and teammate. Responding to the cricket legend’s presence in the VVIP stands, Gambhir’s answer shut down the rumours that have been going around about the two 2011 World Cup heroes having a “falling out. “

“And what a reason to smile, great seeing u!” Gambhir replied to the post, which has already garnered millions of likes and comments from emotional fans.

India’s Historic Triple Crown

The 2026 final will go down as a night where India ruled. After coming in to bat, they hit 255 for 5, the most ever in a T20 World Cup final. Sanju Samson went big, scoring 89 off 46. Abhishek Sharma and Ishaan Kishan both made fiery fifties too. New Zealand didn’t stand a chance. Bumrah took four wickets for just 15 runs, great stuff. Axar Patel added three wickets, ending the game with a tight finish. The Kiwis were bowled out for 159.

This win is Gautam Gambhir’s second ICC title as head coach in under two years. It shows he is really good at managing white-ball cricket.
