MS Dhoni in Fresh Controversy? Jharkhand Housing Board Issues Notice to CSK legend (Image Source: X)
The Jharkhand State Housing Board has recently sent an official notice to former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni at his Ranchi residence on Friday, February 27, 2026. The notice comes after an internal investigation revealed that a residential plot allotted to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend may have been used for commercial purposes, thus violating the original land terms.
Authorities have asked Dhoni to give a formal clarification on the alleged misuse of the Harmu Road property. Moreover, the board is considering cancelling the allotment if the violations are substantiated. This incident is garnering a lot of spotlight as Dhoni is gearing up for yet another IPL season (2026) with CSK.
It's been 10 years, but I still can't figure out how MS Dhoni pulled off this stumping. Unreal reflexes. 🥶🔥

Sanjay Lal Paswan, who heads the Jharkhand State Housing Board, said the notice was just one piece of a bigger effort to stop people from misusing land in the area. The plot on Harmu Road was only meant forresidential purposes at the time of allotment.

But then, reports came in, and when the authorities did a scrutiny, they found out about commercial activities. The government professional further mentioned that Dhoni isn't being singled out. The board sent similar notices to other officials and a bunch of allottees who broke the rules about residential use.
MS Dhoni took blessings from Deori Mata before leaving for Chennai.

Even with all the legal noise swirling around him back home, Dhoni is gearing up for his next IPL edition. He’s already back in the nets in Ranchi, grinding away. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said Dhoni’s still on the team, but don’t expect him behind the stumps every match.
Things are shifting. They just pulled off a big trade, landing Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals, so it looks like the gloves might be changing hands this year. Bringing in Samson and other young players like Kartik Sharma helps the team take some pressure off the 44-year-old.
There are chances that Dhoni might step in as an Impact Player for several games, especially when they play at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Honestly, there’s still nothing bigger for the “Yellow Army” than seeing him at Chepauk.
