The basketball world is witnessing a major happening as LA Lakers ace Luka Doncic is said to have hired the renowned divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent him in the increasing legal war with ex-fiance Anamaria Goltes. Laura Wasser, commonly known as the “disso queen” and lawyer of top celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears, and Angelina Jolie, was contacted after Goltes initiated a child support petition in California early this month. It is a clear indication that the issue has become more serious.
What started as a cross-continental argument between their two children, Gabriela and Olivia, has now turned into a much bigger drama involving the media. Even though there has been a lot of drama off the court, Doncic has kept doing the impossible on the court. Just the other day, he guided the Lakers to a 137-130 win over the Indiana Pacers with one of his 43-point performances.

Luka Dončić Accuses Anamaria Goltes Of Forum Shopping In California
According to the court documents, Doncic is trying to get the California petition declared invalid as he alleged that Anamaria Goltes and their two daughters, two-year-old Gabriela and three-month-old Olivia, are not residents of that state. Doni claims that Goltes specifically chose to file in Los Angeles to “take advantage of the high child support amounts for which California is well-known. “
The Lakers star also said that he had family law proceedings in their home country of Slovenia last month. His legal team believes that Slovenia is the only suitable place for this dispute since the children live there.
Dončić Dominates On Court Amid Personal Relationship Fallout
Astonishingly, Luka’s personal life turmoil has not slowed him down in any way; in a way, as he has been breaking down the historic record, averaging 39. 1 points per game in his last 10 games and just recently surpassing the Lakers’ club record for most three-pointers made in a single season.
As the Lakers are striving for the best seed in the Western Conference, the spotlight remains on the “Golden Boy” from Slovenia, who is on the way to the championship while at the same time facing a fierce international custody battle.
