Newcastle United wrapped up an absolute whirlwind of a summer transfer window with a flurry of dramatic deadline-day business. The club continued its squad overhaul by sealing a deal for 21-year-old versatile forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for around £51.4 million. Capable of playing as a centre-forward, a No. 10, or out on the left wing, he arrives to add a new edge to the attack. To balance the squad, Newcastle also cleared space on deadline day by sending record signing Nick Woltemade out on a season-long loan to Italian giants Juventus.
The late drama capped off a transformative summer window at St James’ Park that reshaped the team’s spine. Manager Eddie Howe and the recruitment team brought in a wave of elite young talent and proven quality, featuring the arrivals of midfielder Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City for roughly £52 million, winger Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim for £43 million, and exciting talents like Aladji Bamba from AS Monaco for £35.5 million.

The Magpies also bolstered their defensive and depth options earlier in the window by acquiring right-back Amar Dedic from Benfica for around £29.5 million, goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from Braga for £25.7 million, young Dutch prospect Sean Steur from Ajax for £23 million, and goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen from Reims.
However, this summer of regeneration also saw some departures. Newcastle brought in enormous funds by parting ways with several star names, including Bruno Guimaraes completing a £75 million switch to Arsenal, Anthony Gordon making a blockbuster move to Barcelona for £70 million, and Sandro Tonali heading to Tottenham.
