Once again, the FIFA World Cup could witness a performance from Nora Fatehi, the blockbuster Canadian singer and actress based in India. Reports suggest that she is in talks to perform at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Mexico, her home country Canada, and the United States.
According to a report by Mid-Day, Fatehi has been approached to perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026 on June 12, at Toronto Stadium in Canada ahead of the opening match. The ceremony is expected to be held a day after the tournament’s opening match on June 11 between Mexico and South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
A source told Mid-Day: “Nora has been approached to take part in the ceremony before Canada’s first match. As one of the three host nations, Canada is planning a grand entertainment launch on June 12. Nora has a busy work schedule in June, so she is weighing her options. That said, she will most likely perform at FIFA as it’s an extremely prestigious event.”
Not Nora Fatehi’s First FIFA Appearance
Nora Fatehi is no stranger to the FIFA World Cup stage. She made history during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the first Bollywood actor to perform at the tournament.
On December 18, 2022, she performed at the Lusail Stadium ahead of the final between Argentina and France, delivering the official tournament anthem “Light The Sky” alongside artists Balqees, Rahma Riad, and Manal.
Earlier, she also performed at the FIFA Fan Festival (November 29 – December 1, 2022) at Al Bidda Park in Doha. Her high-energy performance included ‘Light The Sky’ and popular Bollywood hits like ‘O Saki Saki’ and ‘Dilbar’. During the event, she celebrated her Indian roots by waving the Indian flag and chanting ‘Jai Hind.’
