The Career-Long 81 Yard Touchdown Bomb

The explosive moment arrived in the first quarter right after Minnesota successfully challenged a play to overturn a completed pass.

Undeterred by the setback, Green Bay stayed aggressive on the very next snap. Jordan Love stepped up in the pocket and fired an intermediate dart over the middle to Christian Watson.

Once Watson secured the catch in stride, his blistering track speed took over. The 27-year-old wideout blew past the Vikings’ secondary, racking up 65 yards after the catch on an untameable sprint straight to the end zone.

The 81-yard bomb marked Jordan Love’s first completed pass of the 2026 season and gave the Packers an immediate 9-0 cushion after rookie kicker Trey Smack had opened the scoring with a 59-yard field goal.

Watson was completely switched on and firing on all cylinders throughout the first two quarters. Rather than cooling down after the marathon sprint, the Packers’ serious threat kept tormenting Minnesota’s defensive backs.

Before the break, Watson hauled in a second touchdown pass to cap off an electric first-half performance.

He headed into the locker room with 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns on just a handful of targets, anchoring Green Bay to a commanding 19-10 lead in hostile territory.
