Pakistan are set to host England and Sri Lanka in a blockbuster ODI tri-series later this year, with the Pakistan Cricket Board confirming a packed international schedule involving all three teams. The tri-series will be played from October 18 to 31 across Rawalpindi and Lahore, beginning with Pakistan taking on Sri Lanka at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. England will then enter the contest against the hosts before facing Sri Lanka, with the tournament moving to Lahore for the remaining league fixtures and the final. The announcement is part of a larger home season for Pakistan, with Sri Lanka also scheduled to play a three-match T20I series and a two-Test series against the hosts.
England Join Pakistan and Sri Lanka for ODI Tri-Series
The ODI tri-series will bring together three established international sides in what promises to be a closely contested tournament. Pakistan will open the competition against Sri Lanka on October 18 at Rawalpindi, before facing England at the same venue two days later.
Sri Lanka and England will meet in the third match on October 22, completing the Rawalpindi leg of the tournament. The teams will then travel to Lahore, where Pakistan will face England again on October 25 at Gaddafi Stadium.
Pakistan will return to action against Sri Lanka on October 27, while Sri Lanka and England will play their second league-stage encounter on October 29. The top two teams in the standings will then battle for the title in the final at Gaddafi Stadium on October 31.
The tournament will therefore feature seven matches in total, with each team playing the other twice before the leading sides qualify for the final.
Pakistan’s Packed Home Season
The ODI tri-series forms part of an extensive international programme in Pakistan between October and November. Sri Lanka will arrive in Pakistan on October 4 and begin their tour with three T20Is in Rawalpindi on October 9, 11 and 13.
After the ODI tri-series, Sri Lanka will return to action against Pakistan in a three-day match in Islamabad from November 4 to 6. The two teams will then contest a two-Test series, which will form part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27.
The first Test is scheduled for Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13, followed by the second Test at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore from November 17 to 21.
For Pakistan, the upcoming ODI tri-series will also mark the second consecutive year in which they host a three-team ODI tournament. Pakistan hosted New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI tri-series in February 2025 ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy.
