Premier League August 2026 Awards: Joao Pedro Bags Maiden Player Of The Month Honour

Chelsea striker Joao Pedro enjoyed a dream start to the new campaign, earning the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for August. The Brazilian forward proved to be the focal point of the London outfit’s attack, registering four goal contributions across his opening three appearances.

Pedro’s sharp finishing and link-up play gave opposition defenders a torrid time throughout the month. This marks the first time in his Premier League career that the 24-year-old has won the prestigious monthly gong, edging out a competitive shortlist after combining public fan votes with the decisions of a specialist panel.

Sergej Jakirovic’s Scripts History With Hull City

The Barclays Manager of the Month award produced a stunning result as Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic scooped the prize. The Bosnian tactician orchestrated a fearless beginning to the season for the newly promoted side, guiding Hull to an unbeaten run through August that caught the entire division by surprise.

Jakirovic’s tactical preparation and defensive solidity saw him beat established names to the top spot. In doing so, he became only the third manager in Hull City history to claim the Premier League award, putting down an early marker for the club’s survival and progression in the top flight.

Premier League August 2026 Awards: Anthony Elanga Wonder Strike Wins Goal Of The Month

Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga took home the Guinness Goal of the Month award courtesy of an unforgettable long-range effort against Tottenham Hotspur. Cutting inside from the flank with blistering acceleration, the Swedish international unleashed a ferocious curling strike that gave the goalkeeper zero chance as it flew into the top corner.

Elanga’s achievement carries historical significance as he became only the third Swedish footballer to claim the award, following in the footsteps of Alexander Isak and Jens Cajuste. His strike represents the eighth time a Newcastle player has won the Goal of the Month trophy since the award was introduced in the 2016 17 season.

Jordan Pickford Sets Record With Fifth Save Award

Everton custodian Jordan Pickford etched his name into the record books once again by collecting the Coca-Cola Save of the Month prize.

The England international produced a moment of pure agility during Everton’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace, diving at full stretch to tip a venomous close-range strike from Eddie Nketiah onto the woodwork with the match still locked at 0-0.

The recognition marks Pickford’s fifth career Save of the Month award, extending his all-time record in the category.

The Everton shot stopper now stands two awards clear of Andre Onana, David Raya, and Aaron Ramsdale, cementing his status as one of the most dependable goalkeepers in modern English football.
