The Premier League standings were shaken up after a dramatic matchday featuring high-voltage clashes. Arsenal kept their perfect start alive with a 2-0 win at Sunderland, sealed by Bukayo Saka’s stoppage-time penalty.

Liverpool were frustrated at Anfield as Fulham secured a hard-earned goalless draw. Chelsea surrendered their lead twice before settling for a 2-2 stalemate against unbeaten Hull City.

Tottenham’s struggles continued too, with Everton holding Spurs to another 0-0 draw. Four matches, four different stories, but plenty of talking points. Let’s check where the English football teams are in the Premier League 2026-27 standings after September 12 fixtures.

Arsenal Ease Past Sunderland With Late Bukayo Saka Penalty

Arsenal preserved their perfect Premier League start with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. The Gunners broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Bruno Guimarães produced a stunning long-range finish, curling the ball beyond the Sunderland defence.

The hosts had earlier seen a penalty saved by David Raya, who kept Arsenal level before the visitors struck. Sunderland continued to threaten but struggled to turn their pressure into an equaliser. Arsenal then sealed the points deep into stoppage time after a late penalty was awarded, with Bukayo Saka converting in the 90+8th minute.

Liverpool Stumble Again as Fulham Hold Firm at Anfield

Liverpool were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Fulham at Anfield as Andoni Iraola’s side failed to turn possession into a decisive breakthrough. Victor Muñoz came closest for the hosts, striking the crossbar, while Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno made several important saves.

Liverpool edged the shot count 14-10 and had a marginal advantage on expected goals, 1.13 to 0.71. The result extended Liverpool’s run to three draws in their first four Premier League games and left them without a home league win under Iraola. Fulham, meanwhile, claimed their first point of the campaign after three straight defeats.

Chelsea Blow Lead Before Fighting Back Against Hull

Chelsea surrendered a lead before recovering for a 2-2 draw against unbeaten Hull City at Stamford Bridge. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring after seven minutes, but Mohamed Belloumi struck twice in six minutes to turn the contest on its head before half-time.

Joao Pedro restored parity in the 66th minute with a sharp left-footed finish from Cole Palmer’s cross. Chelsea pushed for a winner late on, but Hull held firm to preserve their unbeaten start.

The draw leaves Chelsea fourth with seven points from four matches, while Hull moved to eight points after two wins and two draws.

Tottenham’s Goal Drought Continues in Everton Draw

Tottenham’s difficult Premier League start deepened as they were held to a goalless draw by Everton in north London.

Spurs dominated possession for long periods but struggled to manufacture clear-cut chances and have now failed to score in all four league matches this season.

Everton had the better opportunities after the interval, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall denied by Antonín Kinský before former Spurs forward Brennan Johnson fired over. Lucas Bergvall forced Jordan Pickford into a late save, but Tottenham could not find a winner. The stalemate leaves Spurs 17th with two points, while Everton remain unbeaten on six points.
