PSL 2026: David Warner is all set for a fresh challenge as he gears up to lead Karachi Kings in the upcoming Pakistan Super League 2026 season. The experienced Australian opener has arrived in Pakistan and looks motivated for the new campaign.

How David Warner Stayed Fit and Motivated After IPL Exit

David Warner opened up about how he kept himself going after stepping away from the Indian Premier League a couple of years ago. Despite facing a tough phase towards the end of his IPL career, he made sure to stay focused on his fitness and routine.

“Post IPL, I had to keep myself motivated and fit, so I kept my fitness regime and followed a good diet, and here I am stronger and fitter than most of the players my age,” Warner told Telecom Asia Sport (telecomasia.net).

A Stellar IPL Career to Remember For David Warner

Before moving on, Warner had an incredible run in the IPL, playing 15 seasons with teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals. He even led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their first title in 2016.

With 6,565 runs in 184 matches, he remains one of the league’s top performers, sitting just behind Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma in the all-time run charts.

Second PSL Season with Karachi Kings

This will be Warner’s second season in the PSL. Last year, he scored 368 runs in 11 matches and guided Karachi Kings to the playoffs, where they were knocked out by Islamabad United.

Looking ahead, Warner is hopeful about improving the team’s performance this time around. “We have quite a few exciting young players who will shine through to give us better results,” said Warner.

Balanced Squad and Familiar Faces

Karachi Kings have built a well-rounded squad, and Warner believes that will make a difference this season. The team also includes his close friend Adam Zampa, who has joined the squad in Lahore.

“We have selected a balanced squad from the auction, which has now become a norm in most of the Leagues,” said Warner, who has played franchise cricket around the world with teams like Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, St Lucia Stars, Winnipeg Hawks, Sylhet Sixers, Dubai Capitals, Seattle Orcas, and London Spirit.

Karachi Kings Set for Season Opener

Karachi Kings, the 2020 champions, will begin their PSL 2026 campaign against Quetta Gladiators on Friday. With Warner leading the side, the team will be aiming for a strong start and a better finish this season.
