PSL 2026: Comments linked to Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi about fuel issues and PSL 2026 have been making the rounds online, catching plenty of attention and sparking debate.
Mohsin Naqvi’s Statement and Sudden U-Turn
Earlier in March 2026, Naqvi had shared that the Pakistan Super League would be conducted without fans and only across two cities, Lahore and Karachi.
At the time, he pointed to a “national fuel shortage” linked to unrest in the Middle East. He also mentioned that the Prime Minister had urged citizens to cut down on travel to help conserve energy.
But in a recent media interaction, Naqvi appeared to change his stance, saying there is no fuel shortage in Pakistan. This shift has left many wondering what really led to the earlier decision.

Alternate Explanation Comes Up
Adding another layer to the story, Islamabad United owner Ali Naqvi suggested a different reason altogether. He indicated that security concerns and diplomatic commitments may have played a bigger role.
According to him, arrangements for important ceasefire talks in Islamabad may have taken priority, making it difficult to manage large crowds during the tournament.
Fact Check on Fuel Situation in India
There have also been claims about a “petrol shortage in India,” but there’s no solid evidence backing this up.
As of April 2026, there are no credible reports or official figures pointing to any fuel crisis in India. The country’s supply and reserves have remained steady, even with ongoing global tensions.
This suggests that the idea of a shortage is likely part of a broader narrative rather than an actual ground reality.
