According to the official update, the official reserve day is kept on May 4, Monday, If play cannot get done on May 3, the match will resume the following day at the same venue. While no PSL fixture has extended to a reserve day thus far, the 2023 edition saw the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shift the final from March 19th to 18th due to poor weather, with 19th and 20th as reserve days.
The Zalmi, captained by Babar Azam, have arguably been the best side of the tournament, losing only one league match. They steamrolled the Islamabad United by 70 runs in Qualifier 1 to reach the final in Lahore, thanks to Babar Azam’s stunning hundred. Babar is also the top run-getter of the tournament currently with 588 runs and is likely to finish it as such. It was in 2017 when Zalmi won their first and only title.
Despite their form, Zalmi will be vary of the Kingsmen, whose late surge has lifted them to one step closer to the title. Their pesky nature and the refusal to give up in any position makes them as firm a title contenders as Zalmi. It was evident in Qualifier 2 against Islamabad United, who needed only six runs in the final over but Kingsmen pacer Hunain Shah defended it successfully. Hence, the clash promises to be a blockbuster one.
