One of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Anshul Kamboj’s Instagram posts have been spammed with comments by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli’s fans amid the IPL 2026 match on April 5, Sunday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In screenshots shared on the social media platform of X, Kohli fans expressed their unhappiness over Kamboj dismissing the star batter.

Virat Kohli gets a reprieve against CSK but fails to cash in

The first over bowled by Khaleel Ahmed saw the former Royal Challengers captain survive a risky single but the direct hit was missed. It was in the third over that the star batter got a reprieve as Shivam Dube dropped an easy catch while running from mid-on. The Delhi-born cricketer did dish out a few lusty blows but holed out to Dube at long-on in what was Kamboj’s first over, sending Kohli packing for 28 off 18 deliveries.

Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar put RCB on track for an enormous total

After Kohli perished for 28, Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt stitched a brisk 56-run stand off only 37 deliveries before the latter departed for 46. Padikkal struggled to find his range but became unstoppable when the left-hander did, notching up a half-century off 28 deliveries. Along with Rajat Patidar, he smashed Shivam Dube for 23 runs in an over to put the Super Kings firmly on the back foot. The pair’s partnership of 58 off 21 balls was broken by Jamie Overton as Padikkal tried to go for the reverse sweep but lost his leg-stump.
