RCB vs KKR, IPL 2026: With the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) willing to continue their charge to push for a spot in the playoffs, the three-time champions will face reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Wednesday at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. But the Knight Riders are still sweating on their lead spinner Varun Chakravarthy’s fitness level and Shane Watson provided an update on that.

RCB vs KKR, IPL 2026: Will Varun Chakravarthy play in Wednesday’s fixture against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru?

Chakravarthy had walked off the field after his spell against the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium after expressing some discomfort in his left leg and reportedly didn’t return to the field. In a hotel in Raipur, the 34-year-old was seen walking with a crutch and leg brace, suggesting the injury might be serious. KKR’s assistant coach Shane Watson said in the presser said, as quoted by India Today:

Varun Chakravarthy is still being monitored at the moment. Obviously he’s been sore. In the last two games he was in a lot of pain. Even though he still bowled incredibly well, to see where he started off in the season to where he’s ended up getting to has been incredible to see. We’re just monitoring him at the moment. We’ve got our fingers crossed that he’ll be available for tomorrow, but we’re still not exactly sure.”

RCB vs KKR, IPL 2026: Where are Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in the points table?

As for the points table, the game is critical for both sides. Although the Royal Challengers currently hold the top spot, they will want to continue their winning streak to ensure a top two finish by the time the league stage ends. Led by Rajat Patidar, the defending champions broke their two-game losing streak by clinching a thriller against the Mumbai Indians.

Meanwhile, the Knight Riders are currently eighth despite being on a four-match winning run. With four more matches to go for the three-time champions need to win all of them due to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals pushing for a playoffs spot.
