Court sources confirmed on Wednesday that the 23-year-old Spanish centre back was stopped in southern Gran Canaria while driving with an alcohol level of 0.09 milligrams per litre. Following a fast-track trial, Asencio accepted the court judgment, which includes a fine of €14,400 euros and an eight-month suspension of his driving license.

Raul Asencio Tested Four Times Over Legal Alcohol Limit
The traffic incident took place in the municipality of San Bartolome de Tirajana in the south of Gran Canaria while the footballer was spending personal time on the island.
Local police officers conducted a routine roadside breathalyzer test and recorded an alcohol reading of 0.09 milligrams per litre in exhaled air.
The maximum legal limit allowed under Spanish road safety regulations stands at 0.025 milligrams per litre.
Because his reading significantly exceeded the legal limit, local authorities filed formal criminal charges for driving under the influence.
Court Imposes Heavy Fine and Eight-Month License Suspension
The case moved swiftly through the local judicial system in the Canary Islands. During the hearing, the court ordered Asencio to pay a financial penalty amounting to €14,400.
In addition to the monetary fine, the judicial authority revoked his driving privileges, banning him from operating motor vehicles for eight months.
The defender agreed to the sentence without challenging the police findings, allowing the legal proceedings to be concluded quickly through a standard fast-track court resolution.
