Robert Lewandowski is set to wrap his trophy-laden stint with FC Barcelona, as the legendary striker will leave after the 2025-26 season ends. While there were talks about a potential contract extension, Lewandowski has already made up his mind to move on. Not only for fans, but for the footballer himself, it’s an emotional decision. Lewandowski, who arrived in Barcelona in 2022, will be leaving with a decorated trophy cabinet, featuring three La Liga titles.

At the age of 37, Lewandowski continues to impress with his striking ability. The Polish international, who has previously played for German giants Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, has already established himself as one of the icons of this generation. He remains third on the Champions League’s all-time top-scorers list with 109 goals, following Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

But it seems the decision has already been made, with Lewandowski sharing an emotional video to bid adieu to Camp Nou. “After four years, full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete…I’ll never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first day,” Lewandowski was heard saying in the video.

Winning titles has been a habit for the veteran striker, who spent his prime at Bayern Munich. As far as his Barcelona career is concerned, Lewandowski has been able to show why he is regarded as one of the best of this generation. During his four-year stay at the Catalan city, Lewandowski has recorded 119 goals and 24 assists in 190 appearances across all competitions.  Apart from three LaLiga titles, Lewandowski has lifted three Spanish Super Cups and one Copa del Rey silverware.

While Lewandowski will leave Barca as a free agent, he has yet to decide on his future move. Several European clubs are interested in taking him on board. Reports say that Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal and some MLS sides are also keen to secure his signature. The announcement is expected to be made after the campaign ends.
