Pakistan Cricket Team News: The animosity between Pakistan and India in recent years has transferred to the cricket field. The players, since tensions across the border in May 2025, have stopped shaking hands with each other. Since then, the two nations have met in men’s competition in four T20Is. All of these games have been won by the Indian team. However, it is a mistake from the production team during the first test between Bangladesh and Pakistan which shows Indian players in the Pakistan team.

The viral error showed Rohit Sharma as the captain of the Pakistan team while Shubman Gill as his opening partner. Somehow, Virat Kohli, who has arguably been the best performing player from India against Pakistan in recent years is missing from this team.

There was a humiliating moment for the broadcasters of the first Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan. The broadcasting team ultimately substituted the names of the players with their Indian counterparts in an effort to showcase the statistics of the Pakistan playing XI. The Pakistan team graphic, which featured Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar, created an odd moment. Cricket fans were divided on social media about the incident, with some pointing out that it was done to increase viewership.

Neither team has played Test cricket in six months before coming to this game. Pakistan had a strong emphasis on T20s and PSL going into this game. Bangladesh, meanwhile, has a flawless record in all other formats in 2026. Babar Azam’s absence is one of the main topics of discussion. His knee issue has kept him out.
