RR vs GT, IPL 2026: Having played two games at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals have lost both; hence, they will be looking to register their first win of IPL 2026 at the venue when they lock horns against the Gujarat Titans on May 9, Saturday. Saturday’s fixture will also be a special occasion as it will RR’s third annual ‘Pink Promise Match’ and it is certainly worth exploring what it entails.

RR vs GT, IPL 2026: Why will the Rajasthan Royals players be decked up in all-pink jersey?

As par of the ”Pink Promise’ campaign, the Royals, led by Riyan Parag, will be decked up in a special all-pink jersey. The jersey was designed by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada after her entry stood out from well over 8500 submissions via the Royals HunaRR Manch contest. The ‘Pink Promise Match’ initiative is dedicated to driving women-led transformation across the state of Rajasthan. Spearheaded by the Rajasthan Royals foundation, the Pink Promise initiative looks to translate on-field events to real-world impact. For every six hit during Saturday’s fixture, six homes in Sambhar, a historic town in Rajasthan, will be electrified using solar power.

The campaign began in 2024 and it has helped power a staggering 780 homes across underprivileged communities.

RR vs GT, IPL 2026: Have Rajasthan Royals qualified for the playoffs?

The Royals, meanwhile, have not officially qualified for the playoffs and have been slightly inconsistent despite six wins in 10 matches while sitting at fourth spot. Their last two games in Jaipur have resulted in a defeat, with the SunRisers Hyderabad chasing down 229, followed by the Delhi Capitals hunting down 226 as both teams registered comfortably.

The Royals need to be wary of the Titans, who are picking up steam at the correct time of the tournament and have an outstanding pace-bowling unit, led by Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj, with Jason Holder providing the perfect foil. But the Royals will take confidence from knowing that they beat the Titans in their previous clash in the tournament in Ahmedabad.
