The Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2026 Match 16 toss has been delayed due to weather conditions, confirming earlier forecasts of heavy rain at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. In the previous match at this venue, when RR faced Mumbai Indians, the toss was delayed by over 2.5 hours and the game was eventually reduced to just 11 overs per side. The situation today appears quite similar, with rain once again disrupting the match. So, how long is it expected to rain in Guwahati? and when will the match start. Check the latest weather update below.

As per the latest update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain probability has now increased sharply from 78% to 94%, while the current temperature stands at around 22 degrees Celsius. Sunday Guardian can confirm from its reporter from Guwahati that it was raining heavily at the stadium at 7:00 PM at the time of toss, and the ground was fully covered.

Now, (7:30 PM IST) the rain has stopped at the Barsapara Stadium and the staff members are drying out the field using the soppers.

When will RR vs RCB Match Take Place Today?

The thick and heavy clouds hovering over the venue are now moving away, bringing much-needed relief. The toss, which was delayed by an hour, is now scheduled for 8:00 PM, as confirmed by the match officials. The match is set to begin at 8:15 PM IST at the moment.

There will be no reduction in overs, meaning fans can witness a full 20-over contest despite the earlier delay featuring the teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and the Indian cricket maestro Virat Kohli in the same battleground.

This is the last Indian Premier League 2026 match in Guwahati, and although the weather initially played a harsh role for the home fans of Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag, the rain has now stopped and the threat of a complete washout has eased.

Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, both are unbeaten so far in the 2026 season. RR stay top with 6 points from three matches meanwhile, RCB is third with 4 points from two matches.
