Having joined the coaching staff two years, the former Netherlands cricketer has completed his contract offered by the BCCI. However, the 46-year-old reportedly wants to move on purely due to personal reasons, with his three young sons needing attention and his family is based in London. With the extensive travel commitments associated with the job as India’s assistant coach, Doeschate is likely looking for a role that involves less travel and allows him to spend more time with his family.
According to Cricbuzz, there is no rift between him and Gambhir and they instead share a close personal and professional relationship. Nevertheless, it has come to light that Gambhir is reportedly yet to sign off on ten Doeschate’s request of wanting to quit. Additionally, T Dilip is understood to be continuing in his role as the fielding coach, contrary to several media reports earlier.
