Sagar Jaglan will begin his Asian Games 2026 campaign with a challenging men’s freestyle 74kg Round of 16 bout against Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur-Ochir. The 21-year-old Indian wrestler is making his Asian Games debut and arrives in Aichi-Nagoya with confidence after winning gold at the Ulaanbaatar Open Ranking Series earlier this year. With the knockout format leaving little room for error, Jaglan will need to stay composed from the opening whistle as he looks to make an early statement in the 74kg category.
The Indian wrestler now faces a quick route through the knockout rounds, with a potential quarterfinal and semifinal awaiting him if he advances. The afternoon session will then feature the medal bouts, giving Jaglan a chance to fight for a place on the podium if he makes it through the earlier stages. His first-round clash with Tumur-Ochir will therefore be the immediate focus as Jaglan looks to turn his recent form into a strong Asian Games debut.
